The expectation is that a majority of the starters will be playing into the third quarter as the coaching staff prepares their team for the upcoming season. The third preseason game is the most important for the starters as the Carolina Panthers are likely to treat this as the dress rehearsal before the season.
This means that quarterback Cam Newton, wide receiver Curtis Samuel and center Ryan Kalil will be stepping onto the field for the first time this year, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Panthers meanwhile should be at full strength as they welcome Luke Kuechly back after he sat out last game due to sore ribs. The fact that they should have their starting lineup at full strength should give fans a preview of what to expect in 2017.
Henne, who came over from Miami in 2013, has 22 starts with the Jaguars under his belt with 27 touchdowns, 26 interceptions, and 57.7% completion percentage. In both preseason bouts thus far, Henne has made 11 of 16 passes for 183 yards.Henne will get a chance to reclaim the starting job in tomorrow’s game, while the Bortles era in Jacksonville may be fading away.
