The greatest sporting events do not come with caveats, and it feels right that a World Series as evenly-matched yet helter-skelter as this one should end with the built-in drama of a title-decider at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday.

he Dodgers and Houston Astros, somebody purchased a pair of dugout club seats behind home plate for $117,000 on StubHub, the site’s spokesperson, Cameron Papp, told USA TODAY Sports.StubHub had two seats listed at $1 million each Wednesday afternoon.

The leading secondary market ticket sites saw prices for Game 6 drop about 50% after the Astros took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. Even with the Dodgers’ victory in Game 6 on Tuesday that put them a game from clinching their first title since 1988, the prices for tickets sold on StubHub since Tuesday had dropped 4% to $1,718.

TicketIQ saw tickets for the cheapest seats drop about 40% to around $800 in the hours immediately following the Dodgers’ 3-1 Game 6 win, although the prices on the site began to trend upward as the first pitch approached. The cheapest price as of noon local time had exceeded $1,000 on the site.

MLB.com is on the scene with the latest from Minute Maid Park as excitement builds for Game 5 The Houston faithful fill up Minute Maid Park for its last game of the season.he World Series, once a best-of-seven playoff, is now a best-of-three. And that swings the advantage to the Dodgers.

World Series Game 5 Live

Baseball has taught us this many times over. One pitch a few inches off the plate. One hop on a grounder. One deep fly ball hit one foot too short or one foot over an outfielder’s glove. In the World Series, even the best teams straddle the line.

On Sunday night in Houston, the Astros and the Dodgers (LAD-HOU GameTracker) will square off in Game 5 of the 2017 World Series. Thanks to a strong outing from Alex Wood and a resurgent performance from Cody Bellinger, the NL champs evened the series at 2-2 on Saturday.

It’s not just that he’s on the mound Sunday in Game 5. It’s that he’s on the mound in Game 5 on the right amount of rest. In his routine. In the preferred conditions. And that marks a big change for what we’ve seen in past postseasons from Kershaw and the Dodgers. Usually when it’s a not Game 1, he’s pitching on short rest, sometimes with his team behind or his team trying to squeeze out of a tight situation.

With Turner needing the DH spot and the Dodgers facing a lefty, Game 4 co-hero Joc Pederson is out of the lineup, with Culberson taking second and Forsythe shifting to third.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have some significant issues as they prepare for Game 4 of the World Series Saturday night at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

the Dodgers have to find a way to record a win in Game 4 or 5 if they are going to send the World Series back to Los Angeles, and they are sending left-hander Alex Wood to the mound to get the job done. The Astros, who have rediscovered their collective hitting stroke, will counter with Charlie Morton.

The Astros are confident that their hitters will continue to gain an edge on Los Angeles pitching. Jose Altuve is hitting .345 in the postseason and has hammered six home runs, while Carlos Correa is hitting .293 with four homers, and star center fielder George Springer has come alive with his bat as well.

The Dodgers need their bats to come alive against Morton. They have had clutch hitting from Justin Turner, Chris Young and Cody Bellinger throughout the postseason, but the Houston pitching has quieted the Dodgers attack through the first three game of the World Series.

The Astros are putting out mostly the same lineup, with the exception of Evan Gattis in the seventh spot as the DH. Below, the lineup and how they’ve done in the series so far.

Both lineups have served their teams well so far (especially with the flurry of offense in Game 2) so it makes sense things would be mostly kept the same. How many home runs can they send out of Minute Maid Park during Game 3

The game featured eight home runs in a back and forth affair, as the Dodgers bullpen that had been stellar throughout the postseason was rocked for six runs, including five in the final three innings.Los Angeles will go with Yu Darvish for Game 3 with the Astros countering with Lance McCullers Jr.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros will meet on what’s expected to be a 100-degree Tuesday at Dodger Stadium, beginning possibly the warmest World Series ever. Some forecasts expect Los Angeles to be hotter than 94 degrees for the first pitch at 8 p.m. EDT on Tuesday — and there’s no roof on Minute Maid Park Stadium.

An October heat wave slugged Southern California on Monday, with the temperature reaching 104 degrees shortly after lunchtime in Chavez Ravine. It was still blazing when the Dodgers and Astros showed up at Dodger Stadium for brief late-afternoon workouts that stretched into the early evening.

Still, the players didn’t take the field Monday until the sun was partly blocked by the left field grandstands, and they took batting practice after sunset — when it was still a toasty 94 degrees. Similar heat is expected Friday.

Game 1 has a chance to be the warmest World Series game on record. Back in 2001, the temperature was around 94 degrees in Phoenix for the Oct. 27 World Series opener between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Yankees. The Chase Field roof was left open, and the temperature had dropped to 76 degrees by game time.

The sun is scheduled to set about one hour after the first pitch in each of the first two games, so the heat will drop after that. But the temperatures could even knock out the marine layer — the thick air mass caused by cooling temperatures near the Pacific Ocean and often blamed for fly balls falling short of the fence from San Diego to Oakland.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to move within two wins of a championship when they host the Houston Astros in Game 2 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium in L.A. on Wednesday night.

The Astros will likely need a better offensive performance in Game 2 than the three hits and one run they recorded in Game 1 in order to even the series, but the bulk of the pressure rests squarely on Verlander’s shoulders.

The former American League Cy Young award winner and MVP is now in a situation where Houston needs him to be the stopper, and Astros manager A.J. Hinch marveled at his ability to come through in big spots, according to Stats LLC (h/t ESPN.com).

I think the mental focus is just at another level. It’s easy to say, ‘Why don’t you just do that every game?’ But it’s unsustainable throughout the course of the regular season. If you were that mentally focused, you’d just burn out.

The loss drops Houston’s all–time World Series record to 0–5. Dallas Keuchel took the loss, allowing Chris Taylor’s home run on the very first pitch he threw in the game.

The Astros look to bounce back in Game 2, sending ALCS MVP Justin Verlander to the mound against left-hander Rich Hill.
